HBK is pleased to announce that we have signed an agreement with Astor Place Holdings to acquire Sentech, a premium sensor business based in Pennsylvania and North Carolina.
Sentech is a technology-driven company with over 35 years’ experience designing and manufacturing standard and custom-engineered precision position and speed sensors for use in mission critical components to enable performance of high value assets.
Sentech solutions are trusted by over 350 blue chip companies and used in critical applications across power generation, aerospace & defence, space, and high-performance industrial end markets. This makes them highly complementary to the HBK portfolio and customer proposition, in particularly alongside our Dytran by HBK and Microstrain by HBK solutions.
Sentech will expand HBK’s embedded sensor portfolio by adding Linear Variable Displacement Transformers (LVDT), Rotary Variable Differential Transformers (RVDT) and speed-sensing technologies, creating a more complete offering.
Ben Bryson, President of HBK, said: “I’m extremely excited and proud to welcome the Sentech team into HBK. They have a wealth of technical know-how for precision sensing in the same premium high growth end markets that HBK serve, notably Aerospace & Defence, Energy and Industrial sectors. They also bring complementary technologies that are a strategic fit with our existing sensor portfolio.
“Thank you to all of the team who have worked to deliver this important acquisition, our first under our new ownership model. We are excited to continue growing our business through organic initiatives and highly strategic acquisitions such as Sentech.”
Bob Irving, President & CEO of Sentech, said: "I'm delighted that Sentech is joining HBK and the Spectris Group. Our heritage is built on hands-on engineering, deep institutional know-how, and a proven ability to advance sensor technology for the most demanding applications. Above all, it's built on our people and the trusted relationships they've earned with our customers over many years. In HBK, we've found a partner who shares those values — their commitment to 'Empower the Innovators' mirrors how we've always worked. I'm confident that with HBK's global scale and market presence behind us, our customers will see continuity in everything they value about Sentech, along with expanded capabilities and an even stronger platform for growth."
The deal is subject to regulatory clearance from the US authorities and is expected to close later this year.
